Gross National Happiness

Gross National Happiness (GNH) is a vision towards development, which balances material and non-materials values, for collective happiness. It includes an index which is used to measure the happiness and well-being of a population.

Five Year Plan

The 12 Five Year Plan (12 FYP) is set to bring about even more well-being and happiness for the people of Bhutan through the achievement of the Plan Objective and the Seventeen National Key Results Areas (17 NKRAs) and the adoption of greater operationalization of our timeless vision of Gross National Happiness (GNH).

Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

DEWA PLATFORM

Objective

The main objective of DEWA is to provide online - both web-based and mobile app, progress and status of Bhutan’s socio-economic development. Any interested organization and individual can view and visualize development progress of Bhutan through the lens of development framework of GNH, SDGs and FYP. In addition, following are some of the objectives:

1. To provide an integrated socio-economic development related data which will be based on different set of indicators of the government’s 12th FYP, SDGs and GNH;

2. To provide easy access to development progress and status through Mobile Apps (android and IOS) based on DEWA portal

3. To provide Common GIS interface platform for Geo spatial analysis and District (Dzongkhag), Constituency (Demkhong), Block (Gewog) and Sub-block (chiwog) wise data visualization.
